Third coast water seminars

ABOUT
Current’s Third Coast Water Seminar Series is back! Relaunching in Fall 2025, the series returns with a sharpened focus on the research, technologies, and policies advancing a circular water economy both in the Great Lakes region, the broader U.S., and globally.
First introduced in 2020, this free, virtual seminar series brings together researchers, technologists, industry leaders, and policymakers to address urgent water challenges and explore real-world solutions. Previous sessions have attracted hundreds of attendees from across the U.S. and around the world.
Now powered by the NSF Great Lakes RENEW Engine, the 2025–26 series will spotlight people and projects transforming how we recover, reuse, and rethink water—from PFAS remediation to resource recovery and beyond.
Webinars will take place on the first Wednesday of each month, starting September 3, 2025, and continuing through 2026.

GREAT LAKES RENEW
Great Lakes RENEW is a National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engine led by Current and powered by a coalition of more than 75 partners across six Great Lakes states.
RENEW is accelerating use-inspired research, workforce development, and commercialization to recover valuable resources and eliminate harmful contaminants from wastewater. By unlocking new sources of critical minerals, energy, and nutrients, RENEW is laying the groundwork for a circular blue economy—one that strengthens supply chains, protects water systems, and helps build a more secure and resilient future for the region and the nation.
The initiative unites universities, startups, corporations, utilities, government agencies, and community organizations to foster innovation and collaboration across the water sector.
The Third Coast Water Seminar Series is one of the many ways Great Lakes RENEW is raising awareness for today’s most urgent water challenges, showcasing breakthrough solutions, and expanding the network of collaborators driving innovation across the region.
