Hosted by: Virridy and Current
Virridy, a Boulder-based water technology and environmental finance company, has partnered with Current to beta test its new Lume E. coli sensor as part of Current’s H2Now Chicago Waterway Monitoring Platform in the 2025 water year.
This presentation will cover detail of both the Lume and H2Now, the testing that both organizations will implement this year, and field audience questions.
About the Lume: Virridy has developed the Lume™ for the measurement of fecal contamination risk in water. The Lume uses tryptophan-like fluorescence (TLF) combined with machine learning analytics to estimate E. coli contamination with remote reporting to alert water stakeholders. This sensor technology is the first to demonstrate a fully integrated in-situ, autonomous, internet-connected fecal risk sensor.
About H2Now: H2NOW currently gauges communicate the results of Current’s microbial water quality assessment using a rolling average of the latest 3 hours of sensor readings. The assessment is based on the estimated levels of fecal coliforms — a group of bacteria typically associated with the presence of human pathogens.
