Join an in-person tour of the rain gardens and rainwater harvesting system at the first LEED Platinum remodeled home in the Chicagoland suburbs!
The homeowners are former educators (presently a technical writer and a change consultant). Michael Baker, one of the homeowners, will lead an engaging and informative tour of the 2,100 square feet of turf grass replaced with 2,300+ native IL plants spanning 34 species of sedges and forbs.
This is a one-of-a-kind experience for homeowners, sustainability advocates, or just the curious.
We’ll answer the big-picture questions, the “what can I do at home?” questions, as well as more specific technical questions in an effort to explain why rainwater management innovation is so important in the suburban context.
Please dress for the weather.
