Film Screening: Glaciers, Ice in Freefall- Alliance Française de Chicago & Villa Albertine/Consulate General of France in Chicago

Wednesday, May 6 | 06:30 PM CDT

Event Overview

The Alliance Française de Chicago is honored to partner with Villa Albertine, France Science and the Consulate General of France in Chicago for a screening of Glaciers, Ice in Freefall as part of Chicago Water Week.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with a University of Chicago glaciologist.
In this 2025 documentary, French directors Pierre-Olivier François and Judith Rueff investigate how climate change is accelerating glacier melt around the planet. Closest to humans, entire territories are threatened by collapse. The documentarians travel across continents to sound the alarm about their indispensable preservation.

Guests will have the opportunity to continue the conversation at the post-screening reception over a complimentary glass of French wine.

Doors open at 6:00 pm. Program begins at 6:30 pm. Please enter via 54 W Chicago Ave. Non-alcoholic options will be available.
