Rep. Carol Ammons (D-103rd District), Sen. Paul Faraci (D-52nd District), and Sen. Chapin Rose (R-51st District) invite you to learn more about exciting advances that the University of Illinois’ Prairie Research Institute is making that have the potential to open new opportunities for socio-economic development in the state encompassing agriculture, industry, and urban growth. This conference will explore the challenges and threats to water security in Illinois and highlight research accomplishments across the state, including innovative underground imaging technology that is allowing us to map our underground water resources in the Mahomet Aquifer to fundamentally change the way we manage our water resources.
PRI experts will discuss the current state of water resources, and new scientific advances that can be applied statewide to protect and sustain our water resources for the future. PRI has the expertise to use helicopter-based time-domain electromagnetics (HTEM) technology to map and characterize the Mahomet Aquifer, deploy state-of-the-art monitoring networks, and develop modeling and prediction capabilities to protect the quality and supply of water for drinking, agriculture, economic development, and industry.
Please join us on Monday, May 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the I Hotel & Illinois Conference Center, 1900 S 1st St, Champaign, IL 61820.
